1. Data controller and contact information
The party that decides to collect and use your personal data is SOS ANIMAL HELP, a Brazilian nonprofit organization registered in the US under EIN 41-4770760 and in Brazil under Brazilian Tax ID (CNPJ) 63.153.881/0001-09, headquartered at Av. Francisco de Paula Leite, No. 487, Jardim Santa Cruz, Indaiatuba/SP, Brazil, ZIP 13344-115, hereinafter "We".
2. What data is collected
Data you provide directly
- First and last name, email address, and, when applicable, date of birth and phone number;
- Financial data: order date, payment date, order status, type of action (donation, membership, etc.), order amount, and the name of the project or campaign that will receive the payment;
- Any information you choose to provide us through our contact forms.
If you make a donation on our site, we transmit to PayPal, our payment processing partner, certain data we collect directly from you, to allow the donation to be processed, namely:
Information needed for payment: order number, payment amount, the voluntary contribution amount, when applicable, the donor's last name, first name and email address, IP address, reference to the beneficiary project, as well as, if provided: date of birth, mailing address, company name.
As part of this payment, we may also receive data about you from PayPal, collected directly from you during the transaction, namely:
Banking and payment information: partially masked data for the payment method used, payment status, and payment authorization date.
Finally, when you browse our site, we may automatically collect personal data about you through technical cookies and trackers placed on your device. The data collected is as follows:
- Information about your use of our site's tools and features: we collect information about your interactions with the site, including the pages or content you viewed and the links you clicked;
- Connection information and information related to the equipment and devices you use to connect to our site: IP address, connection dates and times, data related to the hardware and software of the device used, unique identifiers, crash data, pages viewed before or after connecting to the site.

- Optimizing the operation and efficiency of our products, services and the analytics tools we develop;
- Developing statistics on the use and frequency of our services;
- Suggesting personalized content on the site;
- Sending advertising, including targeted email advertising, with an option to opt out;
- Managing testimonials about our projects, services or content;
- Organizing campaigns and promotional activities, excluding online gambling and betting;
- Sending promotional requests and messages, with an option to opt out;

4. What are your rights?
SOS Animal Help guarantees its users/donors the data-subject rights provided for under Article 18 of Brazil's LGPD (and, where applicable, under other privacy laws such as the CCPA or GDPR). You may, free of charge and at any time:
- Confirm whether we process your data, in a simplified or in a clear and complete format;
- Access your data, and request a copy in a readable, printed or secure electronic format;
- Correct your data by requesting the editing, correction or updating of it;
- Restrict your data when it is unnecessary, excessive, or processed in violation of applicable law, through anonymization, blocking or deletion;
- Request the portability of your data, through a report of the registration data SOS Animal Help holds about you;
- Delete data processed based on your consent, except in cases provided for by law;
- Withdraw your consent, revoking authorization for the processing of your data;
- Be informed about the option not to give consent and about the consequences of declining.
5. Data sharing
Your data will only be shared with members of our team who need access to it (such as donor support and communications), as well as with our potential subcontractors (such as IT providers, website hosting providers and customer support providers). They will have access to your data only to the extent strictly necessary to carry out their respective duties, and act solely on our instructions.
Some of the data we collect is also shared with PayPal, which manages the processing of donations made through the site, including, where applicable, banking data. In these cases, PayPal acts as the controller of the data it collects directly during the transaction. We recommend consulting PayPal's own privacy policy to learn more about how it handles your data.
We also transfer your data to the shelters and projects that benefited from your donation, so that they can process it in connection with receiving and reporting on that donation. Only the data necessary for these operations is transferred.
Your data may also be disclosed as part of internal audits, as well as to administrative authorities, in order to comply with our legal obligations. In the event of a dispute, your data may be disclosed to judicial or administrative authorities, legal counsel, court officers or judges.
All recipients commit to maintaining the strictest confidentiality of your personal data in their possession.
6. Retention period and security
Your data will only be kept for as long as strictly necessary for its use, based on the purpose for which it was collected.
Managing your access to our site and communications
Your personal data will not be kept beyond the period strictly necessary to manage our relationship with you, for a maximum of three (3) years from the date of collection. Data needed to prove a right or contract, or that must be kept to comply with a legal obligation, will be kept for up to five (5) years.
Creating and managing your account
When you create an account on the site, your data will be kept until the account is deleted by the user. Any account not used by the user for two (2) years from its creation will be considered inactive and will be deleted, along with the data it contains, after a prior attempt to contact you.
Managing online donation transactions
Financial transactions related to donations are entrusted to PayPal, which ensures their proper functioning and security. We do not have access to the full payment data, only to the partial data necessary, which is kept for up to 5 years for evidentiary purposes in case of a disputed transaction and to comply with our legal anti-fraud obligations. Card security-code data is never stored. More broadly, payment data is retained for the duration of the relationship and for a further 5 years.
Audience-measurement statistics
Trackers stored on your device, or any other element used for identification or traceability, are not kept for more than six (6) months. After that period, we reserve the right to anonymize the data for statistical purposes.
Proper functioning and optimization of our services
Data collected for the purpose of improving our services and building statistics is kept for a maximum period of one year.
Dispute management
Data used for the purposes of any dispute or legal proceeding related to the use of our site will be retained for the duration of the ongoing proceeding and until a final judicial decision is issued.
Requests and exercise of rights
When you contact us to request assistance, report a problem, or exercise one of your rights under applicable privacy law, your data is kept for as long as necessary to process your request.
Financial and transaction data may be kept for up to 5 years, in line with tax requirements and anti-money-laundering obligations.
We adopt technical and administrative measures to protect personal data against unauthorized access and accidental or unlawful destruction, loss, alteration, disclosure or dissemination, including encryption, access control, server monitoring and secure backups.
7. Anti-money laundering and compliance
SOS Animal Help follows good compliance and anti-money-laundering practices, and may carry out identity verification (KYC) and keep transaction records as required by applicable law and the relevant authorities. Card and PayPal transactions are also subject to PayPal's own verification and compliance procedures.
8. How can you access the personal data we hold about you?
You have the right to access your personal data to obtain a copy of it, and, where applicable, to have it corrected or deleted, by contacting us by email at [email protected] or on WhatsApp at +55 85 99793-4599.
We also remind you that, for legitimate reasons, anyone may request that the processing of data concerning them be restricted, or object to that processing. If your data is rectified, deleted, or its processing is restricted at your request, we will notify those changes to anyone we previously shared your data with, unless doing so proves impossible.
9. International data transfer
Some of the third parties we share your data with may be located, or have facilities located, in foreign countries. In such cases, your personal data remains subject to Brazil's General Data Protection Law and other applicable Brazilian data-protection legislation.
SOS Animal Help commits to always adopting effective cybersecurity and data-protection standards, making every reasonable effort to guarantee and comply with applicable legal requirements.

10. Changes to this policy
The current version of this Privacy Policy was last updated in July 2026.
We reserve the right to modify this Policy at any time, in particular to reflect changes made to our site or to applicable legislation. Any changes will take effect once published on our site, and we will always notify you of the changes made.
By using our services and providing your personal data after such changes, you consent to them.
